Our first baby Andriel made our life almost complete.  It was  a wonderful feeling the first time we had a glimpse of his face, his smile, when we first heard his cry, his voice.  You can imagine how great that occasion was.  It's the happiest moment of our lives indeed...... But the responsibilities of new parenthood are awesome and dramatic.  Thank God, Lola was always there to help us in the beginning.  But with grandma not around, it's really hard.   Good thing we got this great book "What to Expect the First Year" which answers almost all our questions.  It contains such accurate information that it seems we have a pediatrician living with us.   On this page we will be sharing this information, experiences and tips from time to time which might be of help to new parents like us.

"My name is Andriel Pernecita. I was born last September 2000.  BTW, let me kiss that penguin and I'll show you some parenting tips."

Portrait of a Newborn

Most first-time parents are unprepared for the appearance of the bundle of joy that is handed them at delivery.  The good news: Your new baby will sleep a lot during these first few weeks (up to a total of 17 hours a day!). The bad news: It won't be all at once. Since most babies won't sleep through the night for months, sleep deprivation is a fact of life for new parents.  But did you know that, babies can be trained to sleep through the night starting in the fourth month.  It will be good for you and for the baby as well. We will tell you more about it.

"I can crawl now!.. come on catch me!"

"Come on, let's play!"  Andriel shows a lot of motor development during the fifth month.  He started turning-ove,r then moving around, crawling, sitting, standing and a lot of things to explore his capabilities.  Check the Baby Milestones page to see how's your baby's growth and development.

"I'm five months old!  I can do a lot of things now.  Want to see, some of them?"

"See!  I am now developing the new software program that you may be using in the future.  I'll be updating my web page so you'd better visit us again, okay?" You will need some patience to deal with these explorations of your little angel.  Give him some old magazines to read when he's approaching you while you're reading.  Let him rip it up he wants to.

"Actually, I can hold my bottle at four months.  How about a really happy smile! dadadada... O smile ka naman diyan!...Try clicking my bottle for some tips."

Leaving the baby bare for about 10-15 minutes helps develop his body senses!
"Oops!  That's all for now folks!  Click here for the month-by-month expectation so you will know if your baby is ahead, average or below the normal baby's growth and development.  Visit us again!"

"See you next time!"
